REPRESENTATION OF STUDENTS’ CRITICAL THINKING IN WRITING: A CRITICAL LITERACY PERSPECTIVE

The goal of this study is to investigate university students’ representation on their critical thinking in academic writing from a literacy perspective, which text bias and it possesses ideological perspective writer expressing social critics, inequality, power relations. Researchers analyzed 91 argumentative texts Indonesian undergraduate English education students, were qualitatively assessed using Facione’s HCTSR LaGuardia’ s CLR rubrics, as well NVivo 12 Plus software an integrated theme meaning approach qualitative content analysis. discovered that skills varied demonstrating logical arguments, systematic reasoning, analysis evaluation, decision-making, problem-solving strategies higher education.
